LEAD Camp a one-week, experiential, science-based summer camp offering high school students the opportunity to gain knowledge of Louisiana’s coastal and marine environments. LEAD camp is partially funded by GoMRI through the CWC. CWC supports scholarships for 2 students to attend LEAD Camp.

Art & Science Summer Camp is for students who want to explore the disciplines of coastal wetland science and art. The 4-day residential camp allows students to participate in science-based exploration of our coastal marshes through field trips to the coastal areas surrounding the DeFelice Marine Center. Students also approach the experiences as artists and use the marshes as inspiration for art projects during camp.

Field Marine Science Research Camp is for 9th-12th grade students who want to gain knowledge and experience about research being conducted in the coastal marshes of south Louisiana. Participants of this research-based camp will learn about some of Louisiana’s most treasured resources and how to conduct and report their own research results. As campers, students will have access to research vessels, research equipment, laboratories and scientists. Participants of this camp will become part of the scientific community that is trying to assess the state of our coastal systems after the Deepwater Horizon oil spill.
