“What Does Biodiversity Tell You?”
The Coastal Waters Consortium (cwc.lumcon.edu) and LUMCON marine education are hosting a workshop for anyone 18 years or older who is interested in gaining more insight into biodiversity in the Gulf of Mexico.
Participants will learn about what the kinds of organisms found in the Gulf of Mexico can tell you about the environmental conditions. Dr. Nancy Rabalais is LUMCON’s Executive Director and Professor who is a leader in hypoxia research. She has been leading a research program in the northern Gulf of Mexico since 1985.
Workshop Highlights:

- hands-on field and laboratory activities
- a paddling trip through the salt marsh (weather permitting)
Cost: $10/person* (can be paid by check or when you arrive for the workshop).
