Gulf Lagniappe Adult Education Workshop: Barrier Islands

The Coastal Waters Consortium and LUMCON are sponsoring a one day workshop for adults (18+years) that focuses on the barrier islands of Louisiana. Participants will learn about the formation of the barrier islands, their importance, and ecology before visiting some sites located of the Isle Derniere island chain to see these things first-hand.  If conditions are right, participants will be able to go ashore to explore the unique ecosystem found on the islands*.  Great bird watching potential!

Space is limited so register early!

*Note:  Participation in this workshop could include wading, sometimes strenuous walking on a beach, travel by small boat, and lack of facilities while on the island.
